About Stowage

Freight logic, applied to a house.

Stowage exists because a house move and a freight shipment solve the same problem — how to move a fixed set of weight and volume from one place to another without breaking anything or wasting a trip. Freight has spent a century refining that problem. Households mostly reinvent it, badly, once every few years.

We write short, specific pieces about the parts of a move that logic actually improves: what order things go in, how much a box should weigh before it becomes a liability, and which route through a home is worth clearing first. We are not a moving company, and we don't sell moving supplies. We're an editorial log, plus Packslip, the planning app we built to put the ideas into practice.

What we cover

Load order. Box density. Route planning inside a home. Labeling systems that describe a box instead of guessing at it. If a topic doesn't touch one of those, it's probably not going to run on Stowage — we'd rather cover this ground well than cover everything shallowly.

The team

We're a small, independent group. Priya edits and writes most of the log. Marcus spends time with people who move things professionally and brings back what he learns. Talia builds Packslip and keeps the app honest to what the site actually recommends.

Our content policy

• We write about process, not products — you won't find gear roundups or brand comparisons here.
• We don't run sponsored posts or affiliate links. If that changes, we'll say so plainly on the page.
• We use careful, hedged language for anything we haven't measured ourselves — "tends to" and "often" instead of stating a number as settled fact.
• If we get something wrong, we correct the piece and note the correction rather than quietly editing it away.
